The Human Mind in conversation with the Modern Hypocrite.

“At all costs try to avoid granting yourself the status of the victim. Of all the parts of your body, be most vigilant over your index finger, for it is blame-thirsty. A pointed finger is a victim’s logo-the opposite of the V-sign and a synonym for surrender. No matter how abominable your condition may be, try not to blame anything or anybody: history, the state, superiors, race, parents, the phase of the moon, childhood, toilet training, etc. The menu is vast and tedious, and this vastness and tedium alone should be offensive enough to set one’s intelligence against choosing from it.”-Joseph Brodsky

*reads the above on Brain Pickings*
*tries to contain herself*
*tries harder*
Not working.
*hence decides to, as John Ruskin puts it ‘dirtying the paper delicately.’* (He meant art by that. Writing is an art; that I am miles away from mastering.)
Here is what’s happening.

The Power Of A Letter

“A letter always seemed to me like immortality because it is the mind alone without corporeal friend” – EMILY DICKINSON

If I could I would write this in the form of a super-long letter, like the old-fashioned way.  In the past few years that have brought me closer to technology and vice-versa, realization of how important it is to stay connected to the basics has dawned upon me like some divine light. It is probably, the maddening advancement of the world that has made me love the art of letter writing even more. Just like the baker who loves his bread regardless of where it is sowed and reaped, like the pianist who loves all eighty-eight keys of the piano, like the deep sea diver gulps every single piece of beauty unearthed beneath the ocean, (and for the sake of sounding cheesy), I love letters.

A wise man once said. "Take vacations. You can always make money, but you cannot always make memories". :)

On the second day of this New year, I smile as I read that quote on my cellphone wallpaper. I remind myself of the countless train journeys that I have taken and remember this one story in particular. Okay, let me not rush. Let's slow down and give out a warning. Read with caution. It's because I am writing a post after more than a year and my skills have deteriorated considerably. (Not that I was a great writer before. :D) All I am saying here is please bear with me if you begin to lose interest at any point for I do not possess any story-telling talent. I am only making a humble effort to apply whatever writing skills I have learnt over the years. I just really wanted to tell you this story from last year and how it has influenced my new year resolution.

This is what happened..

tete-a-tete with Adrianna Joleigh

Hello you all lovely people! :)

Time for another interview. Cheers! My God! I have been slacking! To be honest I have been travelling a lot lately. I am not very fond of travelling but sometimes it does have some advantages. While I am on a train and I have no dearth of time here, I write this post. Did I mention that there are two Russians next to me, chatting away in lovely Russian? You come across so many cultures when you travel. They are arguing about which place they should visit next. Udaipur or Jaisalmer? I tell you that's a tough one. Anyway, no matter how interesting their conversation sounds, I divert all my attention to this post. (No, I do not know Russian. But I was able to catch a few tit-bits of the conversation. Reading has its' benefits! Ta-da!)
Okay, this time I have the gorgeous lady 'Adrianna Joleigh' in the house. Excited?
I am sure you all are!
What did she say? Well, read on! :D

tete-a-tete with Vashti Vega

This is the fourth interview in the 'tete-a-tete' section. This time I have Vashti Vega in the house! A huge round of applause please! Thankyou. Haha. :P Some of you might not believe I have put this up so soon. (right after Alana Munro). Well, I don't blame you. Sometimes, I can be lazier than a dog resting in a tree's shade. But I had a wee bit of time in the midst of all the hassle lately, so I thought I better put it to some good use.
Question: Lazy and busy? How?
Answer: Happens. It's a 'time' thing. ;)

Okay, here is what Vashti answered. She is both witty and humourous. A fact you guys will readily accept as you go through this interview.

tete-a-tete with Alana Munro

I'll admit here that I have been kind of running lately. Were any of you here you would hear the pitter-patter of my feet often. lol :D It's been a crazy time. Hectic. I do not get to update my blog as often as I would like to. I got these answers way back but couldn't put them up. Apologies.

So, this time we have our very own 'Alana Munro'. :) Here's is what she had to say.

tete-a-tete with Jasveena Prabhagaran

Hey readers! :)

Agreed, I was supposed to put this up sooner. Sorry. I have been preoccupied these days. But again, no matter how busy one is, the fun shouldn't stop! What do theater people say? The show must go on! :D

Keeping up with that spirit, here is another interview for you guys to enjoy. Catch up! ;)
